So far this year in 2010, Sachin Tendulkar is the leading run scorer. 30 years later, Mohammad Yousuf of Pakistan, saying that he found his best form since changing his religion from Christianity to Islam, broke Richards's record with a mind blowing 1788 runs from same number of matches and equal innings. Yousuf made as many as 9 century in year 2006 which also the maximum by any batsman in one year (he was also out for a duck once).
