World record: Sehwag highest run getter in ODI cricket

India's Virender Sehwag has created history with a score of 201 not out in just 140 balls. He beats Sachin Tendulkar's record of 200 not out.

Team India is on a brilliant start with 357 for the loss of three wickets in 44 overs. Openers Virender Sehwag and Guatam Gambhir gave the home side a push in the fourth ODI versus West Indies.
Sehwag has put up a tunning performance, enthralling fans gathered at the Holkar stadium in Indore. With a score of 201, not out, breaking his ODI high score record of 175.
At the crease with Sehwag is Rohit Sharma.

Suresh Raina, 55 scored his first ODI fifty versus West Indies just before getting run out to Russell.

Earlier in the day, India won the toss in Indore on Thursday, and opted to bat this time against the West Indies in the fourth ODI cricket match in the series in Indore.
One change in the Indian team is Rahul Sharma, a debutant legspinner, replaces Umesh Yadav in the playing eleven. The inclusion of Rahul Sharma will mean that all Irfan Pathan fans will not get to see him play at Indore.
On Monday, West Indies won the third ODI, proving that they are good enough to beat the world champions.

India will be looking to wrap up the series, which they lead by a 2-1 score, with a win on Thursday. India, will also be hoping that the top order batsmen, especially V Sehwag and G Gambhir, who have failed with the bat in the series, get to fire big scores.

Tendulkar would return home, Injured Tendulkar out of South Africa ODI series

Parthiv to replace injured Tendulkar in ODI series ( Injured Tendulkar out of South Africa ODI series, Parthiv Patel to replace him )

Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar has been ruled out of ongoing ODI series against South Africa due to a hamstring injury on Saturday.
"Tendulkar will not take further part in the ongoing ODI series against South Africa due to a hamstring injury," the Sydney Morning Herald quoted a Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) press release, as saying.
Tendulkar, who equalled Sanath Jayasuriya's record for the most ODI appearances (444), injured himself when batting. He received on-field assistance from the physio and didn't take the field for South Africa's innings.
Team manager Ranjib Biswal confirmed that Tendulkar would return home — the fourth instance of an injured first-choice player leaving South Africa either ahead of or during the limited-over series.
Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir withdrew after the Test series while Praveen Kumar returned home after the Twenty20 International.
The series is currently tied at 1-1, with the third match to be played in Cape Town on January 18.

India's VVS Laxman and Zaheer Khan at Career Best, ICC Ranking

Latest Cricket Update : VVS Laxman and Zaheer Khan at Career Best, Cricket ranking, Icc Ranking List.........

India's Zaheer Khan and VVS Laxman have moved up the ICC ranking after their legendary 96 run partnership versus South Africa in Durban. Indian veteran batsman VVS Laxman and the experienced fast bowler Zaheer Khan have hit their career best rankings as according to the news; Laxman has been positioned as world’s number nine, while Zaheer holds fourth position at the ranking list disclosed by the ICC. Icc Cricket Rating
For Laxman, putting altogether 96 runs on the board which played an important role in making his team stand victor at Durban helped him earn his ever best position. Similarly, for displaying an impressive performance after making his comeback at the second Test match against the host South Africa, Zaheer has succeeded in holding his current position in the world ranking. Zaheer Khan who dismissed 6 SA wickets in recent test against SA allowed him to jump up by three places in ICC ranking to number four. Cricket Ranking
In India’s win in the second test match, Laxman’s innings and Zaheer’s spells played a pivotal role. The three-match series has been levelled by 1-1 and both of the teams are now looking forward to the final match.
Interestingly, this is for the first time that Hyderabadi Laxman has got into the top 10 batsmen group. While Virender Sehwag at no 4 and Sachin Tendulkar at no 2 are already there, this will greatly encourage Laxman to play more energetically.
