However, he is doubtful for the Indian cricket team's one-day tour of the West Indies next month.
An MRI scan on Tuesday has put a question mark on his availability.
Gambhir was injured during the last league match at the Eden Gardens.
He may require surgery, rehabilitation or rest, it is being learnt.
It is expected that Suresh Raina will lead India in the West Indies during the one-day tour.

Ye to hona hi tha............. Gautam Gambhir must be thinking -"har koi rest par ha tooooo ma kio nahi?" So its a best way to take it. All this is a drama. Now I wont be surprised if yusuf, Raina, Yuvraj and Kohli also get injured before the West Indies tour. Then biggest question is - Who will Lead India indian cricket team?????
