Day one of the fourth Test match was marred by rain which stopped play at 26th over. England batsmen on other hand were at their aggressive best, continuing their form from previous Test match.
Inclusion of RP Singh didn’t have any effect on Indian bowling. Lack of match fitness was evident in his first over which was described as the worst over ever bowled by Sir Ian Botham.
On the second day Indian bowlers would be hoping to get back in rhythm and form after their inability to get a wicket on first day.
England captain Andrew Strauss earlier won the toss and choose to bat first. Strauss was unbeaten on 38 whereas Alastair Cook was unbeaten on 34.
Brief Scores: England 75 for no loss (Andrew Strauss 38*, Alastair Cook 34*) vs India.
Day 2nd, Before Lunch : England 126 for 2 loss ( Bell 29*, Pietersen 18* )
