Injured Sachin Tendulkar out of ODI series in England

It would not be an exaggeration if one says the England tour has proved to be a jinxed one for the Indian cricket team. Having lost eight players on the tour already to various injuries, India are now struggling to compile a playing XI for the second ODI that would give them a chance to win their first international match on the English soil in the current series.

Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has been ruled out of the remainder of the one-day series against England as he needs to rest for four to six weeks to recover from an inflamed big toe on his right foot. The injury to Tendulkar has paved the way for his replacement S Badrinath to stake yet another claim for a place in the Indian squad.
