India on Tuesday November 15 has gathered a mammoth 631 before declaring its first innings for the loss of seven wickets on the second day of second test match against West Indies. At stumps, West Indies was struggling at 34/2. The last hour of the second day was called off due to bad light. Prior to that, India's new comers Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin bagged a wicket each to put West Indies on the backfoot.
Earlier, India's batting fiesta continued on day 2 with VVS Laxman first completing his 17th test century, and continuing his dominance with the bat to remain unbeaten on 176. He shared a 224-run partnership with captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni who scored a quickfire 144. But Dhoni was lucky to score his century as he twice escaped getting caught behind in three overs, when Cameroon Roche overstepped the ball on both occasions. After that, Dhoni played some magnificent strokes to entertain the sparse crowd at Eden Garden. The poor attendance continued on day 2, with only a few hundred spectators flocking the stadium.
