India's Zaheer Khan and VVS Laxman have moved up the ICC ranking after their legendary 96 run partnership versus South Africa in Durban. Indian veteran batsman VVS Laxman and the experienced fast bowler Zaheer Khan have hit their career best rankings as according to the news; Laxman has been positioned as world’s number nine, while Zaheer holds fourth position at the ranking list disclosed by the ICC. For Laxman, putting altogether 96 runs on the board which played an important role in making his team stand victor at Durban helped him earn his ever best position. Similarly, for displaying an impressive performance after making his comeback at the second Test match against the host South Africa, Zaheer has succeeded in holding his current position in the world ranking. In India’s win in the second test match, Laxman’s innings and Zaheer’s spells played a pivotal role. The three-match series has been levelled by 1-1 and both of the teams are now looking forward to the final match.
Interestingly, this is for the first time that Hyderabadi Laxman has got into the top 10 batsmen group. While Virender Sehwag at no 4 and Sachin Tendulkar at no 2 are already there, this will greatly encourage Laxman to play more energetically.
